Jon Gosselin Gives Back the Money

Jon Gosselin showed up to court this morning and told a judge he returned $230,000 to the couple’s joint bank account — as he was ordered to. Jon still maintains Kate has not accounted for $33,000 she spent from the same account. Kate Gosselin was a no-show at court.

All sides are due back in court again next month.

Daniel Baldwin Welcomes a Baby Girl

Daniel and his model wife, Joanne, announced the birth of their daughter, Finley Rae Martineau Baldwin, on August 7. The 7-pound, 10-ounce baby arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA, and joins 18-month-old big sister, Avis Ann. Daniel, brother of fellow actors Alec, Stephen and Billy, has three other children from previous relationships.

Redmond O’Neal Charged with Possession of Heroin

According to Us magazine, Redmond O’Neal was formerly charged with a felony heroin possession earlier this week in L.A. The 24-year-old son of actress, Farrah Fawcett and actor, Ryan O’Neal was arrested on Sunday for attempting to bring the drug inside a jail in Castaic, Calif.
As of right now he remains in custody on $75,000. He will be arraigned on April 24. O’Neal and his father were arrested last September in their Malibu home on suspicion of meth possession.
O’Neal pleaded not guilty to those drug charges on March 25. Ryan pleaded guilty and was ordered into an 18-month drug treatment program. All of this going on while Farrah Fawcett is recovering from complications from a medical procedure to treat her anal cancer, which, recently spread to her liver according to her doctors in a statement issued Monday.

Madonna Rejected for Adoption of Malawian Girl

Usmagazine.com has confirmed Madonna’s application to adopt Chifundo “Mercy” James, 3, was turned down by a Malawi judge Friday morning in court. The judge cited requirements that adoptive parents reside in the country for 18 to 24 months. Madonna, 50, can appeal against the order. She adopted David Banda, 3, in 2006 without meeting the residency requirements, which caused outrage by non-governmental groups that felt she was using her celebrity status to bend the law.
Judge Esme Chombo had been expected to sign off on the adoption at Lilongwe High Court. “We support her adoption process,” Information Minister Patricia Kaliati said yesterday. “Madonna’s been good to us. She’s supporting over 25,000 orphans in this country, and she’s proved she can take care of David.”
Mercy’s uncles, Peter Baneti and John Ngalande, signed off on the papers Monday. They were also present at Madonna’s pre-adoption party at the luxe Kumbali Lodge Thursday night. “Mercy is now assured of a good education away from the abject poverty of our village,” Baneti told Us yesterday. “Madonna has assured us she will not cut her ties with us.”
Madonna’s lawyer Alan Chinula told Us Wednesday: “I am not sleeping sleepless nights over this. I don’t see any law in Malawi that can stop this adoption.” Chinula told Us the residency restriction law is over 50 years old and “archaic.”

Natasha Bedingfield got married over the weekend. She and businessman Matt Robinson tied the knot Saturday at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, her rep told Us magazine. Coincidentally, it is the same place where Fergie and Josh Duhamel wed earlier this year. “Our wedding day was everything we’d hope it would be,” Bedingfield, 27, told Us in a statement. “It was simple, beautiful and natural. Free from trappings or formalities, it was more about expressing our love for one another in front of those we hold dearest to us than anything else.”
Bedingfield wore a cream silk Vera Wang dress and H Stern jewelry; the groom donned Armani. The bridal party was made up of a small group of the couple’s closest friends and family, her rep tells Us. The couple’s pals, David and Robin of Go West, organized the ceremony, which featured flowers arranged by another close pal, Rene Gonera.
Natasha said, “We are now very much looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together. Love is hard to find, so when you do find it, hang on to it!” The British singer, 27, announced last year that she and Robinson were engaged after two years of dating.

Howard K. Stern Charged With Giving Drugs to Anna Nicole Smith

Howard K. Stern, Anna Nicole Smith’s lawyer, and two doctors were charged Thursday with conspiring to furnish drugs to the former Playboy Playmate prior to her death in 2007, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office tells Usmagazine.com. The complaint alleges that Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, 40, Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, 61, and Stern, 40, provided drugs to Smith between June 5, 2004, and January 26, 2007.

Stern and Smith exchanged wedding vows in a commitment ceremony on Sept. 28, 2006 on a catamaran off the coast of the Bahamas. They made their home there, allegedly to avoid a paternity test of her daughter, Dannielynn. Smith died on Feb. 8, 2007 after she was found unresponsive in a room at the Hard Rock casino in Hollywood, Florida. The Broward County coroner’s office ruled that Smith died of “combined drug intoxication” with the sleeping medication chloral hydrate as the “major component.” No illegal drugs were found in her system.

Kapoor and Stern were charged with one count of unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance between June 9, 2004, and Sept. 22, 2006. Eroshevich and Stern were charged with unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance between June 5, 2004, and Jan. 26, 2007. Kapoor and Eroshevich each was charged with one count of obtaining a prescription for opiates by “fraud, deceit or misrepresentation.” Each also was charged with one count of obtaining a prescription for opiates by giving a false name or address.

Kapoor and Stern were charged with one count of “prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict.” Eroshevich was charged with the same crime in a separate count. Arraignment dates for the defendants have not yet been scheduled. Bail was recommended at $20,000 for each.
