
Chastity Bono is a civil rights advocate, journalist, author and musician. She is the only child of Sonny and Cher. In an interview in The Advocate, Chastity Bono came out as a lesbian and this process of coming out is a main topic of her two books Family Outing: A Guide to the Coming Out Process for Gays, Lesbians, and Their Families and her memoir The End of Innocence.
Chastity Bono is also a musician and contributed lyrics and played with the band Ceremony that released only one album Hang Out Your Poetry. As a civil rights campaigner Chastity Bono has worked as a writer for a gay and lesbian magazine The Advocate and been a spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign.
Chastity Bono has decided to change her gender, from female to male and is now in the early stages of the transition process.
