Fergie, or Stacy Ann Ferguson has played a variety of roles, though she is best known for her being a great rock star. She is not only a singer but also writes lyrics for songs; she’s also been an actress and fashion designer.

Fergie’s career started off pretty early when she got a part in the television series ‘Kids Incorporated’. From acting she moved to singing with the girl group ‘Wild Orchid’. When she became successful there, she went on to make a solo album, ‘The Duchess’, five songs of which made it to the ‘Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 Singles’. Three of these music videos even courted the number one position making this album the seventh one from a female pop star to reach the Top 5 Hits position.

Fergie steadily climbed up the ladder of success and won the title of ‘Favorite Female Artist’ at the American Music Awards in 2007. She was also nominated for the Grammy for her song “Big Girls Don’t Cry’. Fergie was also chosen the ‘Woman of the Year’ by Blender.

While her professional life was rocking, Fergie’s personal life was also rather sensational. Statements about her experimentation with sex and drugs invited a lot of criticisms, as did her lesbian experiences. Further fuel was added to the fire when this year, in May, she confessed to being a bisexual in media interviews.

Fergie remains undaunted by these criticisms and in now planning a foray into movies. A project with Nicole Kidman, Rob Marshall, and Kate Hudson called ‘Nine in London’ is in the pipeline.
