His song ‘Heal the World’ from the album ‘Dangerous’ has touching lyrics and was a personal favorite for Michael Jackson and he was very proud of it, as he confessed in several media interviews.
He also went on to create the ‘Heal the World Foundation’ that worked towards the betterment of the less fortunate children. Michael Jackson was a great humanitarian and felt greatly for many causes such as equality and world peace.
The autobiography released by Michael Jackson in 1988 sold over 200,000 copies and talked of the abuse he faced in his childhood, his plastic surgery and life in general. He also starred in the 3-D motion picture made by Francis Ford Coppola, titled Captain EO.
On June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson’s sudden death shocked the world. A memorial was conducted on July 7 at the Staples Centre in L.A. This was preceded by a family service that was limited to close friends and family at the Hall of Liberty in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park. His memorial was broadcast live all around the globe and more than one billion people bade a tearful goodbye to the greatest rock sensation ever known.
