Rocker Gavin Rossdale is set to guest-star on the prime-time drama Criminal Minds. The former Bush frontman will portray a gothic rocker, loosely based on Kiss frontman Gene Simmons, suspected of murder on the November 11 episode.
Tennis superstar Andre Agassi dropped a bomb on the sports world by revealing that at the height of his career in the late ’90s, he was using crystal methamphetamine. The now retired athlete, who used to be married to Brooke Shields and is currently married to German tennis ace Steffi Graf, opens up about his drug abuse in his new memoir, Open. “I was worried for a moment, but not for long,” Andre says about coming clean regarding his history with meth.
Bruce Springsteen’s cousin and assistant road manager was found dead in the Kansas City’s Intercontinental Hotel Monday, not long before Springsteen and his band were to take to the stage.
“Lenny Sullivan, Bruce’s cousin and the assistant road manager of the E Street Band for the last 10 years, passed away today at the age of 36,” a statement on Springsteen’s Web site read. “A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family.”
The death caused the cancellation of the show that night in Kansas City, Mo., with all tickets refunded and promises to return to the area “at the earliest opportunity.” Kansas City police said they are investigating, but that the death wasn’t considered suspicious.
It’s been a tough year for Springsteen, 59, who was accused of adultery in a friend’s divorce proceedings in the spring, and whose wife, Patti Scialfa, suffered a riding accident in April. Last year, the E Street Band’s longtime keyboardist, Danny Federici, died at age 58.
Jon Gosselin showed up to court this morning and told a judge he returned $230,000 to the couple’s joint bank account — as he was ordered to. Jon still maintains Kate has not accounted for $33,000 she spent from the same account. Kate Gosselin was a no-show at court.
All sides are due back in court again next month.
Chris Pine has already commanded The USS Enterprise and now he’s reportedly about to boldly go where Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck have gone before him – the role of Jack Ryan. According to Variety, Chris has been tapped to play the CIA analyst in a reboot of the series based on the popular Tom Clancy novels.
“Tom Clancy created an unforgettable character with Jack Ryan. With Chris in this role, we’ve taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise,” Paramount said in a statement Tuesday night. The iconic Jack Ryan was first played by Alec Baldwin in 1990’s “The Hunt for Red October,” Harrison Ford took over in 1992’s “Patriot Games” and 1994’s “Clear and Present Danger,” and Ben Affleck stepped into the role in 2002’s “The Sum of All Fears.”
Chris is currently working with Denzel Washington in “Unstoppable,” directed by Tony Scott.
It happens almost every season on Dancing with the Stars, and this time around it’s partners Karina Smirnoff and Aaron Carter debunking the buzz that they’re getting cozy off the dance floor. “It’s really funny,” Smirnoff, 31, told PEOPLE after Monday night’s performance. “The rumors are that we are hooking up but then we’re not sexy enough on the dance floor (according to head judge Len Goodman)? Let me tell you, if that was the case, the dance would have been very raunchy, as Len wanted it to be.”
For Carter, 21, the rumors are off the mark from what’s really happening between the two of them: a budding friendship. “We have a lot of respect for each other and I have a lot of respect for her,” he says. “She’s a lady and I’m going to treat her like that. She just went through a breakup so it’s important to respect her.”
Jon and Kate Gosselin will be back in court next Tuesday, before an arbitrator, who could order Jon to return the money he took from their joint account and he could even be held in contempt. The arbitration conference set for the 13th in which the issues Kate’s lawyer raised — that Jon took $230,000 from the joint account without permission — will be addressed. We’re told the arbitrator has the power to issue an injunction, forcing Jon to return the money. Sources also say Jon’s lawyer has filed legal papers to contest Kate’s claim.
Project Runway host Heidi Klum is hoping to make a major change in her life. The sexy supermodel filed legal papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court on October 5 to take the last name of her husband, singer Seal. The mother of three, who is due to give birth to her fourth child this fall, will have the last name of Samuel if a judge signs off on the application by November 20.
Nicole Richie is seeking medical treatment following a car accident, police confirmed to Usmagazine.com. The star, 28, was rear-ended in her Land Rover by a paparazzo driving a Jeep Cherokee in Beverly Hills just before 2 p.m. on Monday, Lt. Tony Lee told Us. “She complained of pain,” he said, adding that she refused medical care at the scene but is “going to seek her own medical treatment.” According to a witness, Richie went to L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with her mother to be treated for minor injuries.
The driver who rear-ended Richie was arrested and charged with driving without a license, and is in the process of being “physically booked,” Lee told Us. Police are still trying to verify his identity.
Oliver Hudson, brother of actress Kate Hudson, is going to be a dad again. The Rules of Engagement star, 33, and his wife, actress Erinn Bartlett, are expecting a second child, the couple’s rep told US magazine. The two, who wed in June 2006, welcomed their first child, Wilder Brooks Hudson, in August 2007.
